Why artificial grass beats natural turf for roofs.

Rooftop Greenery

Green rooftops are making a difference in cities all over the world. Green roofs deliver shade, absorb heat from the atmosphere, and decrease the roof surface and surrounding air temperatures. These rooftops are a ideal way to increase square footage and support mental health by incorporating a green outdoor space in the concrete jungle. By using synthetic, you can expand the options for making a creative space in an otherwise boring spot.

Benefits of Synthetic Grass Rooftops

There are several advantages to installing artificial turf on a rooftop. Here are just a few of our favorites:

Easy to Clean

Synthetic turf is very simple to keep clean and fresh-looking.

Low Weight

When compared to organic grass, it poses no safety risks or hazards, such as root and water damage.

Supplies Insulation

Protects building interiors from extreme heat and may provide immunity to mildew, decomposition, or mold.

Less Maintenance

Synthetic turf will last for the long haul and requires very little upkeep if installed properly.

Adds Value

Delivers a quick escape while staying in the concrete jungle.

Safe Space for Kids & Pets

With synthetic turf, your pets and children will not be susceptible to harmful pesticides, weedkillers, and fertilizers.

Create A One-Of-A-Kind Look

Artificial turf makes it easy to install turf where organic grass would not grow, and you can produce unusual shapes, or even hang them on walls if you want to.

Which Fiber Type Should You Choose?

There are several factors to think about when choosing synthetic grass, let alone what would be look good on a rooftop. Here are a few critical aspects to keep in mind when purchasing:

Nylon is a long-lasting fabric, but outdoor spaces are prone to expansion/contraction and are likely to fade.

For indoor areas, we recommend nylon or scenarios with high commercial wear or non-fill spots. All non-infill nylon Shaw products observe thorough flammability testing to meet building codes.

We recommend an infill PE tape product for a commercial rooftop area.

PE tape provides durability without sacrificing performance; top-quality PE resins are fade-resistant and not prone to expansion and contraction. Our Play-Safe collection offers the best results for this application.
